Dear Dewey:

Please find enclosed five photocopies of the revised “Outline,” together with an original laser printer copy. Please keep the laser copy separate and use it for any further duplicating—it is just a bit sharper than the photocopies. This version includes the complete set of revisions that you sent, since I think that we might as well put our best foot forward in this mailing. I proofed it very carefully, and hope that there are no slip-ups. As for printing, I would recommend the following format:

  1. “Cover letter” on one side of a sheet of 8.5” x 11” paper;
  2. “Outline,” with pp. 1, 2, 5, & 6 printed on two sides of a sheet of 11” x 17” paper, and pp. 3 & 4 printed on two sides of a sheet of 8.5” x 11” paper.
  3. Offering on one side of a sheet of 8.5” x 11” paper.

This will make the “Outline” a separate little booklet, and will allow people to clip off the coupon an the last page without destroying the “Outline.” If we are intending to print more than 200 or so copies, it would be best to use an offset press. They can use paper plates, since there are no half-tones, and the cost should be comparable to what a photocopy would cost, while the quality should be better. If you want, I can take care of the printing here, or Rainer can do it in Salt Lake. He seems to have access to reasonably-priced printing.* The cost should in any case be borne by ISUS.

Regards,

*$138.00 for 500 copies at one place I looked at (price list enclosed) in NYC.
