Thank you very much for the two pieces you sent! I read them both with great interest.
For your information, I enclose a copy of a letter from Mr. Reilly of North Pacific to Mr. Corliss of the Source-book project. Whether or not an agreement is reached in this case, I think we should seek the help of other book clubs or book services for distributing Nothing But Motion.
I must say I was surprised and disappointed that all of your pre-1979 books are to be allowed to go out of print. I would understand not reprinting The Structure of the Physical Universe, but is it a good policy to discontinue all the rest as well? I am afraid that the second half of Nothing But Motion, and Solid Matter a fortiori, will be too difficult for readers capable of easily grasping New Light on Space and Time or Beyond Newton. In the case that in the near future a wider public is made aware of your work through various publicity efforts, it appears to me crucial that a basic introductory text such as New Light on Space and Time continue to be available.
On another theme—perhaps you are aware of the fact that over the past three decades there have been several claims made, notably by Japanese and Russian astronomers, that supernova remnants may be sources of cosmic rays. This made me wonder whether there could be any mechanism whereby some of the matter that is accelerated to ultrahigh speeds in a supernova explosion, and is transformed into cosmic matter, finds an obstacle of some kind in the inverse sector which would slow it down to subluminal speeds and re-inject it into the material sector—giving rise to the reported observations. I offer these thoughts for what they may be worth.
