You may be interested in the enclosed article from Tuesday’s New York Times; the last two paragraphs especially. The entire problem of “dark matter” is a result of disregarding the space-time progression. It seems to me that as the various candidates for the missing matter are eliminated (the upper limit on the possible mass of neutrinos has been lowered drastically as a result of the supernova observations) attention will increasingly turn to revisions of gravitational theory. At that point it may come as a relief to astrophysicists to find that Newtonian gravitation itself does not need revision, but that it is modified by another force independent of it.
By the way, I did send to Corliss your comments on the supernova; please let me know if he uses them in his next Science Frontiers (I think he dropped me from his mailing list).
