Dear Dewey:
Enclosed is a copy of a letter I received yesterday from John Gribbin, the British scientist who is a physics consultant to New Scientist. I wrote him in reaction to a short editorial of his published in that magazine last month. I think there is a chance for some good publicity here, and am sending him a copy of The Universe of Motion by airmail. Unfortunately this is the only tangible result so far out of all my efforts. But just today a letter appeared in The New York Times from a physicist at Boston University (copy enclosed); I will send him your Philadelphia lecture (“The Mythical Universe of Modern Astronomy”), together with the book announcement; maybe something will give.
Now that school is almost over, and I have a part-time summer job here in New York that will support me, I was wondering what your further publication plans are, and if you think I could be of some use. I am thinking of Beyond Space and Time; is it time to explore the possibility of having a commercial publisher handle this book? Or should I plan to start the typesetting myself this summer? I am not yet sure if I will have the opportunity to do it; it partly depends on what your intentions are with this book.
My best, to you and to Dorothy,
